Twitter Account of Twitter CFO Hacked
Social Media
This is the second time data has been compromised on @anthonynoto, the feed for Twitter Chief Financial Officer Anthony Noto.
Last year, he accidently leaked confidential information related to an acquisition in a public tweet that was intended to have been a private direct message.
This time, Noto’s account sent hundreds of auto-replies to various Twitter users with posts containing spam links, indicating that the account had been breached, according to Bloomberg.
It’s unclear how the tweets were sent.
A company spokesman wouldn’t comment on whether Noto uses two-step verification, which helps protect accounts.
There were some 296 tweets sent over an eight-minute period, according to CNBC. They were deleted by 2:25 p.m. ET.
