Bitcoin Thief Holds Up NYC Man at Gunpoint

A bogus virtual currency buyer the victim met on Craigslist led him to a car, where another man sitting in the backseat pulled a gun and ordered the victim to electronically transfer the bitcoins to the crooks

The 28-year-old victim was robbed of $1,100 worth of the digital currency.

The victim initially had gone to a street corner in Brooklyn to meet the supposed buyer, who had answered the victim’s Craigslist.com ad offering bitcoins for sale.

After the victim sent the bitcoins, the thugs then took the victim's cellphone, and drove off.
