Cyber wingman. Protecting the 1 million users of the Air Force’s unclassified and classified networks isn’t easy, but Snoddy made the job more efficient by overhauling the service’s cyber defense program in 2018. He deployed the Automated Remediation and Asset Discovery system, which allows for real-time forensic analysis of cyber incidents. Now suspicious endpoints are automatically quarantined and investigated, cutting response times from months to hours. Plus, the technology opens possibilities for additional innovation. Colleagues say that thanks to Snoddy’s efforts, the Air Force’s cyber defense program is seen as the gold standard in the Defense Department.
