Abba Technologies Inc., an 8(a) systems integrator, will carry high-end storage solutions from Maximum Strategy Inc. as part of its high-performance computing product suite, under an agreement announced last week.

Abba Technologies, also a Silicon Graphics Inc. reseller, will integrate Maximum Strategy's Gen5 Storage Servers and other products into solutions it develops for Energy Department laboratories and Defense Department agencies. The company works with graphics-intensive applications, such as virtual reality, real-time visual simulation and high-end multimedia publishing.

"We feel with these data-intensive computing applications...we need high-bandwidth network connections and really fast and large data servers," said Ching-Ching Ganley, president of Abba Technologies, Albuquerque, N.M. "Maximum Strategy is the premiere product that can solve the storage problem," Ganley said.

Maximum Strategy's products, which cost between $80,000 and $500,000, range from the S Series for departmental-size Unix and Windows NT servers up through the top-of-the-line Gen5 systems for supercomputer-class Unix systems from Cray Computer Corp. and Silicon Graphics. The S Series offers Fast-Wide or Ultra-Wide SCSI host connections, while the Gen5 offers both High-Performance Parallel Interface and Fibre Channel Standard connectivity.

Clients in the national labs need these performance levels on such projects as the Accelerated Strategic Computing Initiative.
