Lockheed Martin Corp. last week announced a reorganization that seeks to integrate the electronics and information technology businesses of Lockheed Martin and Loral Corp.
When Lockheed Martin acquired Loral earlier this year Loral's operations became a business unit of Lockheed Martin. With the reorganization which goes into effect Sept. 1 Loral's businesses will be distributed within three main business units alongside related Lockheed Martin businesses. Those business units are the Electronics Sector the Information & Services Sector and the C3I & Systems Integration Sector.
The Electronics Sector headed by Thomas Corcoran president and chief operating officer will focus on targeting systems combat direction systems and electronic warfare among other fields. The C3I & Systems Integration Sector led by Frank Lanza president and chief operating officer will target command control communications and intelligence systems information management and training and simulations systems. This sector includes Lockheed Martin's Global Transportation Network contract with the Defense Department
The Information & Services Sector headed by Peter Teets president and chief operating officer will cover information systems and services. This unit includes projects such as the Defense Information Systems Agency's Defense Enterprise Integration Services II.- John Moore
