Federal/State Cooperative Purchasing Measure Raised From Dead in 1998
U.S. Rep. Thomas Davis (R-Va.) might reintroduce early next year cooperative purchasing legislation that would allow state and local governments to purchase products and services from the federal General Services Administration multiple-award schedule program. Language included in the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act that would have permitted cooperative purchasing was repealed as part of the Treasury-Postal appropriations bill this fall.
