The Federation of Government Information Processing Councils has begun its annual search for scholarship candidates to support continued education in the field of information technology.

As in previous years, FGIPC will award $1,000 scholarships in three categories: public service employees working at the GS-09 level or lower, public service employees at GS-10 or above and high school seniors aspiring to IT careers.

FGIPC's Industry Advisory Council will grant a $3,000 scholarship to the best overall applicant in all three categories.

Public service applicants must have completed at least one semester with a 3.0 grade point average at an accredited college or university. They must be enrolled in a course of study leading to an IT-related degree. High school seniors must have a 3.0 GPA and should be planning to obtain an IT-related college degree.

Individuals interested in one of the scholarships must request an application by sending an e-mail to Ann Gladys, FGIPC western regional vice president, at ann.gladys@gsa.gov or by calling (619) 537-2200. The deadline for applications is April 24.
