DOD picks four officers to fill top IT posts

The Defense Department today announced a series of nominations to fill some of its top information technology management slots.

Air Force Maj. Gen. John L. Woodward Jr. was nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as director of command, control, communications and computer systems, J-6, the Joint Staff. Woodward currently serves as director of command and control systems, J-6, NORAD/United States Space Command and director of communications and information, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.

Air Force Maj. Gen. Gregory S. Martin was nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as principal deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition. Martin currently serves as director of operational requirements, deputy chief of staff, air and space operations at Air Force headquarters, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

Navy Vice Adm. Robert J. Natter was nominated for reappointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as director of Space, Information Warfare, Command and Control, N6, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. Natter currently serves as commander of the Seventh Fleet, Yokosuka, Japan.

Navy Vice Adm. Arthur K. Cebrowski was nominated for reappointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as president of the Naval War College, Newport, R.I. Cebrowski currently serves as director of Space, Information Warfare, Command and Control, N6, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
