Intellisource Inc. and RMS Information Services Inc. announced last week that they will merge their operations into a new services integrator concern under the name The Intellisource Group.
The addition of Intellisource, a Fairfield, Conn.-based company that provides integrated solutions for non-core, back-office support functions, will effectively double the size of RMS.
Combined 1998 revenue of the two concerns is expected to be $150 million. RMS, an information technology company based in Fairfax, Va., counts NASA, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Air Force among its federal government clients.
RMS is one of seven companies bidding for the $5 billion Outsourcing Desktop Initiative for NASA contract.
Michael Berta, RMS' president and chief executive officer, said the merger will allow the new company to provide a full-range of IT solutions for clients. "We expect the perception that RMS is a 'small company' to be lessened and our credibility strengthened, especially when it comes to competing for such major contracts as ODIN," Berta said.
