Protest delays GSA's N.Y. telecom buy
The pace and intensity of cyberattacks against Defense Department computers and networks has increased so much that the Pentagon now considers itself continually at war.
The General Services Administration's Metropolitan Area Acquisition for local phone service in the New York City metropolitan area has been delayed by a protest filed by Winstar Communications Inc. last Friday. The protest was filed at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
Bids on the MAA solicitation had been due June 10, but GSA's Federal Technology Service postponed the deadline until July 9, a GSA spokeswoman said. GSA has not yet filed its response to the protest and would comment no further. "We don't discuss pending litigation," she said.
Winstar was protesting the delineation of geographical boundaries described in the solicitation.
