Dell names Buchsbaum head of federal division
SAP America Public Sector Inc. today announced that its SAP R/3 product, training and consulting services are on the General Services Administration's Financial Management Systems Software (FMSS) schedule.
Dell Computer Corp. has named Tom Buchsbaum as its new leader for Dell's federal division, effective Feb. 1.
Buchsbaum, former president of Zenith Data Systems federal division and, most recently, head of Dell's education division, took over as vice president and general manager of Dell Federal sales from Bob McFarland.
As head of Dell's federal division, McFarland guided the computer manufacturer to the top of the General Services Administration schedule. In fiscal 1998, Dell's federal sales of $462 million beat out its nearest competitor, Gateway Inc., by more than $200 million.
McFarland is leaving the federal market to become vice president and general manager of Dell's Global/National business.
