BMC Software Inc. today announced plans to buy New Dimension Software Inc
BMC Software Inc. today announced plans to buy New Dimension Software Inc.,a maker of systems management software, including job scheduling and reportmanagement programs.
BMC officials said it will pay $650 million in cash for New DimensionSoftware, a 16-year-old company based in Tel Aviv, Israel, with 1998revenue of $93 million. About 15 percent of that figure is attributable tobusiness with the federal government, according to Gary Liebowitz, vicepresident of marketing.
Wayne Morris, vice president of corporate marketing for BMC, said theHouston-based company's acquisition of Boole&Babbage Inc., announced fourmonths ago, is expected to be approved at a shareholders meeting March 30.The two acquisitions will increase BMC's annual revenue to $1.4 billion,and it will have about 5,000 employees in 26 countries.
