Canton, Ga., Goes for Virtual Gov System

Expecting a population influx of 12 percent over the next year, Canton, Ga., recently inked a deal with VC3 Inc., to put in place a World Wide Web-based system that citizens can use to pay traffic tickets, taxes and other city bills.

Located outside Atlanta, Canton will use the contract to weave together communications between its police, fire and streets departments and other city hall facilities. VC3 is based in Columbia, S.C., and can be found at www.vc3.com.
