Unisys Corp. announced a strategic alliances services contract award from the commonwealth of Kentucky -- a first step in the state's effort to frame a set of state contracts with IT vendors.
Kentucky Gov. Paul Patton's (D) Office of Empower Kentucky is working with the state's chief information officer and the finance and administration cabinet on the program.
"The new process allows the commonwealth to describe the results that are needed rather than lengthy technical specifications," said CIO Aldonna Valicenti. "We believe this new way to do business will benefit the citizens of Kentucky by implementing better and quicker IT solutions."
