Sprint's Teague resigns

Don Teague, vice president and general manager of Sprint's Government Systems Division, resigned from the company yesterday "to pursue other opportunities," a company spokesman said today.

Teague, a former FCW Federal 100 Award winner, won the respect of many of his customers at such agencies as the General Services Administration and the Treasury Department for the collaborative relationships he maintained with them, especially on the FTS 2000 telecommunications contract.

Sprint GSD recently began a reorganization to more closely align its operations with those of the company's headquarters. Sources said Teague was unhappy about the change in the division's reporting structure.

Gary Linsin, vice president of national accounts at the division, temporarily will assume Teague's role in the company until a permanent replacement is announced.

"It is with great regret that we make this announcement," the Sprint spokesman said. "Don has been a cornerstone of this division for many years, and he will be very missed."

The spokesman refused to comment on Teague's reasons for resigning. He said Teague has not announced his plans for the future.
