U.S. Commerce Department Secretary William Daley announced last week that he will convene a national conference this fall to address information technology gaps that exist across the nation.
The conference will take place in Washington, D.C., but a date and list of participants have not been finalized, according to a Commerce spokeswoman.
A Commerce report released in July, "Falling Through the Net: Defining the Digital Divide," detailed technology gaps in different parts of the country and across racial and socioeconomic lines.
