CDC and ATSDR Y2K-Compliant

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced today that it has successfully completed an end-to-end Year 2000 test at the agency and at the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and their partners.

"We coordinated testing with CDC partners for data being received as well as for reports and data being sent...and we are confident that there is low risk of Y2K failures associated with data exchanges in the new millennium for the agency," said James Seligman, director of the information resources management office.

The end-to-end testing was conducted on six systems: three dealing with disease surveillance and reporting and the other trio supporting financial payment information. An independent team observed the testing, which took place during May and July, and verified the successful results.
