As part of its latest effort to advance science research, the Energy Department today unveiled a World Wide Web site offering government scientists and the general public a onestop shop for searching hundreds of scientific journals.
As part of its latest effort to advance science research, the Energy Department today unveiled a World Wide Web site offering government scientists and the general public a one-stop shop for searching hundreds of scientific journals.
The PubScience site, www.osti.gov/pubsci, developed by DOE's Office of Scientific and Technical Information and co-sponsored by the Government Printing Office, provides access to more than 20 research publishers. These include journals published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Institute of Physics Publishing and the Nature Publishing Group.
In addition to making it easier for government and academic researchers to find information, the general public also can use the PubScience site to search the full text of all archived publications.
"We're very proud to make this research available beyond our own community of science," said Martha Krebs, director of DOE's Office of Science.
The PubScience site will become part of the department's EnergyFiles Virtual Library of Energy Science and Technology, located on the Web at www.osti.gov/EnergyFiles. The library's search engine enables users to search the almost 500 scientific and technical information databases and Web sites linked through EnergyFiles.
