Nebraska to talk technology education

This month Nebraska education leaders will get together Grand Island to think about what they can do to better prepare young people to handle workplaces of the future.

A two-day conference called Education Technology 2010 will be held Feb. 24 and 25 at Grand Island Senior High School. Gov. Mike Johanns invited 150 education leaders to participate.

Participants will assess the current state of educational technology in Nebraska, then think about what changes will have to take place to ensure that students will be prepared for the workplace in 2010.

Co-sponsoring the event are the Nebraska Department of Education, the Nebraska Information Technology Commission, the Nebraska Educational Services Units and the Applied Information Management Institute.
