Commerce to promote wireless technology
Government and business will meet to discuss the possibilities of wireless
The Commerce Department this week launched an initiative bringing together
federal and private-sector communications managers to discuss the latest
in wireless technology.
Through a series of meetings under the new Wireless Innovations in Communications
Initiative, federal representatives will outline their communications requirements
and vendors will identify what wireless innovations and new spectrum management
approaches are available for agencies to use.
The effort will expose agencies to the latest technology and allow the administration
to promote new products and services. The program will review various wireless
technology including mobile technologies, radars, navigation technologies
and satellites.
