Delaware information chief resigns

Delaware's executive director of the Office of Information Services, Jack

Nold, is resigning to lead Wilmington College division of communications

and advanced technology.

His last day with the state is March 31.

Nold, who has been with information services office for 18 years was instrumental

in the state's technology efforts, according to a statement from Gov. Thomas

Carper. He not only prepared the state to handle the Year 2000 conversion,

but established the Internet, telecommunications and mainframe technology

upon which the state now relies.

Under Nold's supervision, his department established an award-winning image

system at the Division of Corporations and consolidated the data centers

at the Judicial Information Center and the state's Labor Department.

Nold is a founding member of the regional Intergovernmental Technology consortium

with Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. He is also a senior member of

the National Association of State Information Resource Executives.

The state expects to announce Nold's successor in the next several weeks.
