S.A.I.L.S., a Massachusetts library network that is merging two existing
networks will post its catalog online using Sirsi Corp.'s Unicorn Library
Management System for its 48 libraries.
WebCat, Alabama-based Sirsi Corp.'s World Wide Web catalog, allows library
users to access all library holdings including the reference desk.
S.A.I.L.S. used focus groups to gauge what users wanted in the library,
and many wanted a catalog they could access easily from their home, a statement
said.
The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners awarded the network funds
to purchase the system.
