Tech Center gives companies boost

An Oklahoma organization is recruiting tech-savvy people to help technology companies go commercial

The Oklahoma Technology Commercialization Center is recruiting people who can help up-and-coming companies with technology needs.

The center is looking for engineers, business plan writers, World Wide Web site designers — any service providers that it can refer to its client base of more than 170 Oklahoma technology companies.

"Our mission is to assist technology-based companies in Oklahoma through the complex process of technology commercialization," said Randy Goldsmith, the center's executive director. "Not only are we creating new wealth in Oklahoma by helping advanced technology companies succeed, we are spreading the wealth to those service providers who assist in their success."

The center is also identifying university professors and instructors to be consultants for technology businesses.

The Oklahoma Technology Development Corporation, a private nonprofit corporation focused on creating additional high-tech businesses in the state, operates the OTCC (www.otcc.org). The Tech Center is funded by the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology and by state appropriations.
