Ergonomics software hits GSA sked

Magnitude Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Magnitude Information Systems

Inc., last week received a General Services Administration schedule contract

for its ergonomics management software.

The company claims its ErgoManager package is the only ergonomics software

presently available on the GSA schedule. The timing is right, said a company

spokesman, because the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is

committed to implement an ergonomics standard by the end of the year.

ErgoManager counts keystrokes and mouse clicks over time. As a user exceeds

certain thresholds, the software will warn the user that it may be time

to take a 30-second break. The product is designed to reduce fatigue, reduce

errors and, as a result, increase productivity, according to the spokes-

man. It also helps reduce the risk of repetitive strain injuries.

Another component to the suite evaluates workspace setup, assesses risks

and informs the user of what improvements should be made.

Magnitude also signed an agreement last week with CapITal Reps LLC to serve

as its federal sales office. GSA schedule pricing for ErgoManager is about

$113 for quantities of up to 250, with discounts for larger quantities.
