JetForm finds 'sweet spot'

JetForm Corp.'s new chief already has his sights on expanding the company's federal presence.

JetForm, a provider of electronic process solutions, on Tuesday announced the appointment of Kevin Francis as president and chief executive officer. He will start May 15, ending a 28-year tenure at Xerox Canada Ltd., where he is chairman, president and chief executive officer.

Francis said Ottawa-based JetForm's presence in the federal space is well-established but something he would like to build on.

"Historically, the federal [space] has been a very large market for JetForm, but I think there's an opportunity for us to penetrate it to a much greater extent than we have to date," Francis said.

Francis said JetForm's new "Jaguar" product is just one example of the company's new initiatives that should add value for its federal customers, which already include the Social Security Administration, the U.S. Postal Service and the Defense Department.

"I'm very familiar with the paper and digital co-existence through my career at Xerox — and using that to bring value within an organization — and feel that is aligned with JetForm's intense solutions focus," Francis said. "It really fits hand-in-glove with my previous experience."

"JetForm has already identified that [federal government] sweet spot, and it's a growing opportunity for us to be as aggressive as we can be to add value" for our federal customers, he said.
