Quality Systems & Software Inc., Mount Arlington, N.J., recently introduced

its new Doors Enterprise Requirements Suite, which allows geographically

distributed users to collaborate on the design and development of enterprise

information technology solutions.

Requirements management software such

as Doors — the core product in the new QSS suite — can help agency development

teams communicate their system needs, track and manage development and validate

that products are being built according to specifications, said Bill Coughlin,

QSS director of corporate communications.

The new components of the suite give users different options to work

with the Doors software, said Paul Raymond, Doors Enterprise Requirements

Suite product manager. DoorsRequireIT lets team members participate using

a Microsoft Corp. Word-based editor, and DoorsNet enables them to access

the project management system using a World Wide Web browser.

The suite has particular benefit in government, where project teams

must prove they've built what they were supposed to, Raymond said.

The suite features a change proposal system with e-mail notification

to all project participants when the requirements need to be changed and

user discussion threads to facilitate communication.

Doors Enterprise Requirements Suite will be available in June 2000. A single

10-seat license of Doors is listed at $14,000.
