Education companies join to integrate services
Datatel Inc. and Eduprise will jointly develop administrative system interfaces to e-learning platforms for higher education institutions
Two education technology companies — one specializing in academics, the
other in administration — have partnered to integrate their systems. Datatel
Inc. and Eduprise will share their expertise in marketing and technology
to jointly develop administrative system interfaces to electronic learning
platforms for higher education institutions.
Datatel will also offer its clients Eduprise's e-Learning planning, development
and implementation services.Shahron van Rooij, director of product marketing
at Datatel, said there is no timeline for when the systems would be integrated.
The partnership was announced May 17. "The objective is to ensure that institutions
are able to have academic and administrative technology without forcing
them to go to two vendors," van Rooij said."For the institutions, it's one-stop
shopping with academics and administration in one," van Rooij said.
Datatel, headquartered in Fairfax, Va., specializes in administrative technology
software for educational institutions. Eduprise, based in Research Triangle
Park, N.C., provides application service provider services and World Wide
Web integration for e-learning programs.
