administration program that keeps track of immunizations citywide.
The system, announced during National Immunization Month, will keep
records of immunizations given at Denver clinics, school sites or community
health centers, print reminders for families of children who need vaccinations,
and automatically keep track of vaccine inventory.
"At any one of our sites, we can pull up immunization information and
know exactly what vaccines the child was given," said Paul Melinkovich,
assistant director of community services.
Using the system, health providers find out if patients need vaccinations
and print postcards to inform a family that a vaccine is overdue.
The system, implemented by ManTech Advanced Systems International earlier
this month, is tied into the registration system so that data does not have
to be entered twice.
