E-FOIA firm acquired

Metastorm, an e-business software developer, announced last month that

it has acquired Software Systems Group Inc., a software consulting and development

firm with customers in the federal government.

The 31-person SSGI produces a suite of e-business process automation

software including the Electronic Process Management software for Freedom

of Information Act requests dubbed E(PM)-FOIA. Metastorm said it plans to

integrate the product with its e-work tools to develop a platform for e-business

operations that agencies can use.

SSGI counts among its users the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization

Service, U.S. Customs Service, the Defense Department and the Bureau of

Prisons.
