GMSI forms knowledge management company

Atvantec offers enterprisewide document, records, matter and knowledge management solutions

Global Management Systems Inc., an information technology consulting firm

specializing in network and systems integration services, has formed Atvantec,

a document and knowledge management company focused on the public sector.

GMSI created Avantec from ACS Legal Solutions, a firm established in

1987. Atvantec offers enterprisewide document, records, matter and knowledge

management solutions. The company has offices in five cities nationwide,

including New York and Washington, D.C.

"Atvantec places us at the forefront of the rapidly growing document

management business solutions market," said Tom Reed, president and chief

operating officer of Bethesda, Md.-based GMSI. "In the government market,

Atvantec is ideally positioned to take advantage of governmentwide document,

record and knowledge management initiatives and to mploy commercial enterprise

application solutions to the public sector."

GMSI, based in Bethesda, Md., already boasts an impressive list of federal

customers, including the Pentagon, the Army, the Navy and the Commerce Department.

The formation of Atvantec comes on the heels of last month's announcement

of a GMSI's alliance targeting the federal marketplace with Visionael Corp.,

a knowledge management solutions provider.
