Motorola to acquire Printrak
Printrak's government customers include the Drug Enforcement Administration, the FBI, Louisiana and Los Angeles County
Motorola Inc., on Tuesday announced its plans to acquire Printrak International
Inc., a software and services supplier for public safety and other government
customers.
Motorola, based in Schaumburg, Ill., provides integrated communications
solutions and embedded electronic solutions for customers around the world,
including agencies at all levels of government.
Printrak, Anaheim, Calif., supplies enterprise software and related services
for information management and decision support. The company's technology
offerings include: automated fingerprint identification, computer-aided
dispatch, and records management software and hardware systems for federal,
state and local government agencies.
Some of Printrak's government customers include the Drug Enforcement Administration,
the FBI, Louisiana and Los Angeles County.
Under the agreement, Motorola will pay about $160 million for all Printrak
stock in the cash-for-stock merger transaction.
