MicroStrategy, SAIC form alliance

SAIC's customers will be able to tap MicroStrategy's data collection expertise in a new strategic partnership

Science Applications International Corp.'s government and commercial customers

will be able to tap MicroStrategy Inc.'s data collection expertise in a

strategic partnership announced Monday.

"This alliance gives government customers a greater ability to access and

share information with their co-workers," said Harold Youra of MicroStrategy's

government partnership marketing team. "This adds another skill set to SAIC

and gives them another avenue to pursue with customers with a high skill

set while providing [government] customers the comfort of working with their

vendor of choice."

SAIC, a systems integrator based in San Diego, Calif., has an impressive

list of government clients including the FBI, the Army, the Navy and the

Air Force.

Through the alliance, SAIC customers will be able to use the MicroStrategy

7 platform for analyzing vast data warehouses. The business intelligence

tool by Vienna, Va.-based MicroStrategy provides analysis workflow, an open

XML-based architecture and can scale to serve to millions of users.

The MicroStrategy-SAIC team approach will enable users to analyze information

in their databases and then send it to others using the World Wide Web,

wireless or voice media.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Youra said the two companies

would be announcing a federal government contract win in the near future.
