SBA strategy puts priority on IT
The Small Business Administration has made modernizing its technology systems a priority in its new fiveyear strategic plan
The Small Business Administration has made modernizing its technology systems
a priority in its new five-year strategic plan.
Among the programs SBA plans to modernize are:
* The loan monitoring system, which will manage SBA's lending programs.
* The financial management and disaster assistance system, which will
track disaster relief loans.
SBA will also develop e-commerce and e-government applications, identify
outsourcing opportunities, complete a survey of information technology skills
and requirements, and continue infrastructure improvements.
SBA's plans for this fiscal year include finishing the business case
and system planning and buying commercial software for the disaster assistance
system.
Also this fiscal year SBA will implement the loan origination, servicing
and collection system part of the loan monitoring system.
