NSS taps GTSI for federal focus
Network Storage Solutions has forged an agreement that will help the company market its products to GTSI's government
Network Storage Solutions Inc. on Monday announced an agreement that will
help the company market its products to GTSI Corp.'s government clients.
GTSI, a business-to-government marketer of information technology solutions,
has the customer base and experience in the public sector that NSS was looking
for in a partner, said Brad Clemmons, president and chief executive officer
of the Chantilly, Va.-based NSS, a provider of network-attached storage
devices.
"We never really had a focus on the federal government before," Clemmons
said. "Our business there — with NASA, the U.S. courts and intelligence
agencies — sought us out. But this is our first attempt to market in the
federal government space."
Under the agreement, GTSI and NSS will work cooperatively to co-market
NSS products to GTSI's government clients. Clemmons said agencies may now
purchase NSS' Thunderbolt network storage solution from GTSI's contracts — NASA's Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement (SEWP-II) contract
and the National Institutes of Health's Electronic Computer Store (ECS-II)
contract.
Thunderbolt is an ultrahigh-density network storage system for midsize
enterprises and service providers that supports up to 8 terabytes of storage
in a 19-inch rack. The product helps reduce the cost and complexity of storage,
installation and management in Unix, Linux and Microsoft Corp. operating
environments.
In addition to making them available on the SEWP and ECS contracts,
NSS is also working on getting its products on the General Services Administration
schedule, Clemmons said.
