Kodak opens new D.C.-area office

To better support government customers and meet their growing business demands, Eastman Kodak Co.'s Commercial and Government Systems division last week announced the opening of a new office in the Washington, D.C., area.

The Fairfax, Va., office houses about 10 employees, but it also serves as a "home base" for Kodak personnel working in customer facilities in the Washington area, said Frank Koester, vice president of technical operations at Kodak's C&GS. He said the company would expand staffing at the new location by another 10 to 15 people in the future.

The new office will enable the company to provide quicker responses to its government and commercial customers in and around the nation's capital, Koester said, including the National Imagery and Mapping Agency, where there is a lot of growth potential.

"There's a lot of opportunity in the image-quality branch of NIMA as they distribute images to the various customer bases they support," he said. "They want to improve their image-quality processes and assessments, and Kodak is an expert in that area."
