NRC awards support contract
OAO and Force 3 will provide operational support and maintenance in a multimilliondollar contract
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission Monday announced that it has awarded OAO Corp. and Force 3 Inc. a two-year, multimillion-dollar award from the Comprehensive Information Systems Support Consolidation contract (CISSCO II).
Under this delivery order, OAO and Force 3 will provide operational support and maintain NRC's application systems and environment. The two companies will assist NRC in configuration management, implementation of standardized processes, cost management and control in delivering software maintenance, as well as operations support.
OAO, based in Greenbelt, Md., is a provider of aerospace and information technology products and specializes in enterprisewide solutions. Force 3, of Crofton, Md., is a provider of network solutions.
Both companies have previously done work for NRC, but this is the first time they will be combining their efforts for the commission, said Tim Carney, vice president of contract programs at Force 3.
"We believe that OAO's strengths in software quality assurance...when combined with Force 3's understanding of the customer environment make this a win for the NRC," Carney said in a release.
