DynCorp wins SEC contract

DynCorp Information & Enterprise Technology Inc. has been selected to provide information technology infrastructure support services for the Securities and Exchange Commission, the General Services Administration announced Aug. 7.

The DynCorp task order, which is performance-based and has a potential first-year value of more than $8.2 million, calls for the company to manage and operate SEC IT infrastructure facilities nationwide. However, it does not include the EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis and Retrieval) system, the agency's database of corporate filings.

The contract covers:

* Two data centers.

* A high-speed, nationwide, switched network.

* Help-desk operations.

* Technology test lab support.

* Technology deployment support.

The eight-year task order features contractor performance incentives based on various criteria, including customer satisfaction and maintaining specified service levels. The SEC aims to consolidate a number of infrastructure contracts to improve efficiency, accountability and agencywide customer support, according to GSA.

The Federal Systems Integration and Management Center, a large-scale IT systems integrator that is part of GSA's Federal Technology Service, competitively awarded the contract through GSA's Millennia indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity vehicle.

PlanetGov and Compaq Computer Corp. are among the subcontractors included on DynCorp's team.
