Latest nexis.com unveiled

LexisNexis, an online research firm, this week unveiled the next generation of its nexis.com service, a more customizable online information solution for government knowledge workers.

Nexis.com combines advanced search capabilities with easier-to-use search,display and downloading features for delivering relevant information. With a click on the main page, anyone in a government organization or business enterprise can access needed information instantly.

By choosing the Quick Search feature from the nexis.com home page, users now will search up to two years of news. Researchers using Boolean search terms will find improved source selection; a drop-down menu with the most popular sources; and improved features for selecting, viewing, printing,downloading and e-mailing results.

Other enhancements include:

* The ability to search within a set of results in quick search and the subject directory.

* New content for quick search subject directory.

* Relevance ranking for subject directory results.

* The ability to tag documents in any citation or full view for printing or downloading.

Bill Pardue, chief executive officer and president of LexisNexis corporate and federal markets, said the enhancements were based on customer feedback to make nexis.com "as easy to use as any Web search engine, but with superior content not available elsewhere."

LexisNexis, based in Dayton, Ohio, provides information to the legal,corporate, government and academic markets. It publishes legal, tax and regulatory information online and in print and CD-ROM formats.
