MicronPC settles on Intel
Company commits to Intel processors in computers for government market
Based on customer requirements and a desire to streamline its product line, MicronPC LLC announced Aug. 20 its commitment to offer Intel Corp. microprocessors for its computers in its government and small to medium-size business markets.
Mike Adkins, president and chief executive officer of MicronPC, said Intel technology was preferred among its government customers.
"Selecting Intel as our supplier of microprocessors for these markets enables us to deliver the advanced technology customers demand," Adkins said in a release. "Plus, we simultaneously streamline our product line, simplifying our customers' buying decisions and reducing our engineering and product development costs."
Paul Otellini, executive vice president of Intel, said that MicronPC is a long-term customer of Intel, and its government and small to medium-size business customers prefer Intel products.
MicronPC's federal customers include the Army, the Air Force and the departments of Energy, Interior, and Health and Human Services.
