Partnership adds technical resources, professional services to GTSI's offerings
In a move to expand its professional services offerings in enterprise management, performance management, information security, high-end Unix systems and storage, government reseller GTSI Corp. announced a strategic partnership with the Allied Group Sept. 6.
Through its partnership with the Allied Group, which also provides services in enterprise data, networking, application development and education, GTSI will be able to offer its customers a broader range of high-end professional services and solutions.
Jim Dunn, GTSI's vice president of technology solutions, said that agencies are becoming more reliant on GTSI's "technology teams" to solve complex information technology problems and the Allied Group extends "our expertise with additional technical resources which help provide on-site support services to our customers."
The alliance will provide GTSI's customers "with everything they need — technical knowledge, ideas, products and support — under one roof," Dunn said.
Anthony Orlando, the Allied Group's vice president of professional services, said the partnership increases the number of senior consultants, engineers and project managers that serve clients.
The companies already have teamed up to deliver services to the Commerce Department and the Defense Commissary Agency, according to Dunn and Orlando.
Commerce used GTSI and the Allied Group to provide a comprehensive remedial action plan to comply with requirements from a recent General Accounting Office security audit. The team is deploying several technologies that enable secure operations.
Defense Commissary selected the GTSI/Allied Group duo to help increase the performance of its hardware and software platforms. Engineers from Allied's systems and storage and enterprise data services practices assessed the Defense Commissary's Web environment and provided a plan to optimize it. They also provided other database administration services.
