Meritage Technologies, a services and solutions firm, has launched a public-sector business unit

Meritage Technologies, a services and solutions firm, announced Sept. 4

that it has launched a public-sector business unit to better serve its burgeoning

list of government and education customers.

Meritage's offerings include:

* Consulting.

* Information architecture design.

* Applications development.

* Systems integration and support.

Meritage's government practice is based at the company's office in Fairfax,

Va., and houses a team of 20 business strategists, technology architects,

software analysts and integration specialists.

The new business unit will use Meritage's other nationwide locations and

resources to serve its state and local government customers and educational

institutions, said Pat Dailey, chief executive officer of the Columbus,

Ohio-based company.

"Meritage has several long-term contracts with a cabinet-level U.S. agency,

a growing number of other public-sector customers, and we're on the GSA

schedule, so the timing is right to devote additional resources to the special

needs of government, education and related entities," Dailey said in a release.

Meritage's government customers include the Education Department and the

Austin, Texas, educational community.
