CACI completes ERP entry
Acquisition boosts CACI's ability to compete for large financial and human resource systems
Systems integrator CACI International Inc. has completed its acquisition of Digital Systems International Corp., an enterprise resource planning specialist, boosting CACI's ability to compete for large-scale financial and human resource system contracts.
The acquisition was completed Nov. 1, and terms were not disclosed. Arlington, Va.-based CACI had announced Aug. 13 that it signed a letter of intent to purchase DSIC, which is also based in Arlington.
In addition to having a similar corporate culture, the newly acquired company also positions CACI in some areas where it hopes to become a strong player, said John Hedrick, vice president of the research and technology systems group at CACI.
The acquisition makes CACI a subcontractor in the Navy Marine Corps Intranet and the Pentagon's Standard Procurement System, Hedrick said.
DSIC also has provided enterprise support to several naval commands where CACI has also been active, including the Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; the Space and Naval War Systems Command in San Diego, Calif.; and the Naval Supply Systems Command, in Mechanicsburg, Pa.
DSIC also has been assisting the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, "and that's very attractive to us," Hedrick said. "The whole acquisition is very, very nice synergy. Plus it also positions us into some other nice areas."
