OTG program takes aim at feds
OTG's federal team will focus on solutions that help users avoid and recover from virus attacks, data loss and security risks
Responding to increased demand from federal agencies for data protection and disaster recovery, OTG Software Inc., a provider of online data storage, data access and e-mail management solutions, announced Nov. 27 the launch of a program designed specifically for federal customers.
OTG's federal team will focus on providing solutions that help users avoid and recover from virus attacks, data loss and security risks, said Tom Simmons, director of federal sales. This effort builds on OTG's existing relationships with several federal agencies and local municipalities.
The company's XtenderSolutions product suite is the key to this initiative and is designed to help reduce costs and boost productivity by enabling agencies to store, manage and access data more efficiently. The Web-enabled solutions include document imaging and management, workflow, e-mail management and data storage management.
"OTG's extensive product offerings help provide the solutions that are a critical component in the government's effort to link data from hundreds of government departments and agencies," Simmons said. "Our XtenderSolutions' interoperability can effectively enable the virtualization of all the stored data from the CIA to the [Federal Aviation Administration], regardless of storage devices."
OTG's clients include the departments of Defense, State and Veterans Affairs as well as the Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command.
