Help is on the way

How the Office of Management and Budget is addressing security problems that surfaced during a cross-government review:

* Developing governmentwide performance measures to help employees and managers be accountable for their security responsibilities.

* Focusing on training and best practices through committees on the newly formed Critical Infrastructure Protection Board, the CIO Council and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

* Developing recommendations for how to address security in contracts.
