AFFIRM selects new president
Laura Callahan, deputy CIO at the Labor Department, will take over from Debra Stouffer
The Association for Federal Information Resources Management (AFFIRM) on Jan. 15 named Laura Callahan, deputy chief information officer at the Labor Department, the new president of the joint industry/government organization.
Callahan will take over the rest of the term Feb. 1 from Debra Stouffer, who is leaving her job as chief technology officer at the Environmental Protection Agency. Callahan will also serve a full term starting in June.
Callahan has long been involved in information security and enterprise architecture issues and also serves as co-chairwoman of the CIO Council's Workforce and Human Capital for Information Technology Committee.
Earlier this month, Stouffer announced she would leave the EPA to become vice president of consulting services at DigitalNet Inc. AFFIRM bylaws require the association's president to be a government employee. Stouffer will continue her involvement with AFFIRM as a director.
