NSA picks four firms for IT BPA

Four companies will provide IT services under a five-year blanket purchase agreement

The National Security Agency recently selected four companies to provide information technology services under a five-year blanket purchase agreement potentially worth $450 million.

Computer Sciences Corp., CACI International Inc., EER Systems Inc. and QSS Group Inc. were each awarded contracts under the BPA Oct. 28, 2002.

The BPA covers a wide range of IT services including:

* Technical analysis.

* Systems and security engineering.

* Hardware and software installation, maintenance and training.

* Help-desk support.

* Systems administration.

The four companies will provide IT engineering, technical and management services for the Information Technology Infrastructure Services (ITIS) program at the NSA Washington, D.C., campus and NSA sites worldwide.

CSC is an incumbent on some areas of the BPA and is dedicating about 250 employees from its Maryland Intelligence Center to contract work. The company estimates its share of the award to be about $300 million if all options are exercised.
