Input V.P. leaving company

Scott Lewis leaves to help reseller MicroWarehouse strengthen its government presence

Scott Lewis, vice president of sales at federal research firm Input will leave the company by the end of the month to become vice president of marketing and vendor relations at reseller MicroWarehouse.

Lewis, who has been at Chantilly, Va.-based Input for about a year, said he will lead MicroWarehouse's effort to build its public-sector business.

"I spent a year basically hiring 30 salespeople" at Input, he said. "The company did tremendously well in 2002, and I would like to do the same thing for MicroWarehouse."

MicroWarehouse, based in Norwalk, Conn., has a strong presence in the private sector and education, but it is trying to grow stronger in federal, state and local government, Lewis said.

MicroWarehouse will add about 300 salespeople to its federal effort and already has offices in Ashburn and Reston, Va., to maintain proximity to federal clients, Lewis said.

Lewis will split his time between the Virginia offices, he said. He plans to start the new position at the beginning of March and will stay at Input until then.
