Kirsch leaving CDW-G

Departing senior vice president has been with the reseller for 13 years

Larry Kirsch, senior vice president at CDW Government Inc., is leaving the company, he said in an e-mail message this morning. Kirsch has been with the reseller for 13 years.

"I have had the honor of working with some of the best folks in the industry," Kirsch wrote. "CDW is an incredible success story."

Kirsch, who could not be reached for further comment, reflected on CDW's decision in 1998 to create the government-focused CDW-G subsidiary. "At that time, public sector was not the attractive industry vertical that it is today," he wrote. Yet by the end of 2002, CDW's government-oriented subsidiary had grown to be an $865 million company.

Kirsch did not explain the reasons for his decision, but wrote that he plans to spend some time with his family and then "phase into my next endeavor."
