Lockheed to mentor Mississippi firm

Choctaw-chartered firm will be helped to grow in the federal technical services market

Lockheed Martin Space Operations will mentor a small Mississippi technology firm under an agreement announced May 2.

Applied Geo Technologies Inc. is a corporation chartered by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

Lockheed will provide resources to strengthen the firm, especially in management, technology and business development capabilities, with an eye toward helping it grow in the federal technical services market.

Lockheed last year dedicated a 220,000-square-foot space and technology center at NASA's Stennis Space Center on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and has about 600 employees in the state.
