Northrop Grumman names new computer chief

Experienced federal IT community executive will lead firm's Computing Systems business unit

Northrop Grumman Corp. has appointed Jim White, who has 20 years of experience working with the federal information technology community, to lead its Computing Systems business unit.

White has held senior positions at Sybase Inc. and other vendors, said Herb Anderson, corporate vice president and president of Northrop's Information Technology sector, in announcing White's appointment.

In all of his past leadership positions, White either built a business from scratch or transformed it from reselling commodity products to providing solutions, Anderson said.

"Jim is a true leader with demonstrated skills and expertise in driving profitable revenue growth in the federal sector. He will be an important addition to our senior management team," Anderson said in a written statement.
